Edistar has consolidated its skill and knowledge in the implementation of systems managed by the Linux operating system and the opensource software platforms (PHP, PostgresSQL, Tomcat, etc.). At present all the servers (web, application, db and teletext servers) are based on such technology. Moreover, since 1996, Edistar has become autonomous in the construction of its Interactive Voice Response (IVR), acquiring the necessary skills both in terms of hardware and software. Therefore Edistar is able to rapidly activate new IVR depending on the telephone traffic generated and thus guaranteeing maximum flexibility of management with minimzed costs. In addition, the in-depth knowledge of the platform allows the rapid implementation of any type of application. Edistar has built its own internal Multichannel network, in which the various resources are shared and available for each level of integration. The information can enter from one channel and be transmitted from another, depending on the terminal used by the end user (telephone, fax, pc, mobile telephone or television). Access to the National Telephone Network makes use of the collaboration of three important telephone operators: Eutelia, Telecom Italia and Fastweb. The possibility of operating directly within a telephone exchange and being connected by fibre optics, allows Edistar maximum flexibility and very rapid expansion capacity. Edistar's structures and the intelligent network resources distributed by telephone operators are logically and physically interconnected so as to guarantee the maximum utilization of the resources. As for connectivity towards the IP world we now have links towards Telecom Italia, Fastweb and Eutelia, with an overall bandwidth of 16 Mbit/s and which is easily expandable.
