teletext

Interactivity, similar to the Internet, is now available on any television set. No extra equipment or connection necessary, just a standard telephone.

The Teletext technology represents a unique opportunity to inform, entertain and  deliver services to the public, or restricted groups of users, both easily and conveniently through the television set.

Edistar supplies the Linear, Dynamic and Interactive Teletext service, integrated with other communication means (telephone, Internet, SMS) to various television broadcasters, including La7 and MTV.

Main Teletext Applications:

  • Interactive teletext
  • Dynamic pages
  • Home Banking
  • Financial Information in real time
  • Games
  • Advertisement services

Linear teletext

Traditional (or linear) televideo allows the transmission of a series of information: i.e. news, tv programme times, special events, train and cinema times and the opening times of public offices.  It also allows consultation of financial and personal classified ads, as well as advertising information.

Edistar houses the broadcasting schedules and, through a modem or web connection, with a very simple editing program, automatically updates the pages transmitted.

Dynamic pages

Updating of the pages takes place by means of software which is able to extract the data from a remote database and publish them automatically with no need for any human intervention.

Interactive teletext

Edistar is the first in Italy to develop innovative services on interactive Televideo giving the television broadcasters which have adopted it, and the companies that use it, the opportunity to utilise the many services associated with it, and gain advantages both in financial and company image terms.

A television set and a telephone are all that is required to make use of the services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with real-time updates of:

  • Teletext Home Banking
  • VideoMail
  • Telepurchases
  • Surveys
  • Games
  • News

Thanks to the telephone keypad, it is possible to access the reserved pages.  The client can directly select the item of interest, without having to wait for the page to come round again as for traditional televideo.  Moreover, it is also possible, through a combination of numbers on the telephone keypad, to send texts, reply to adverts, check one's bank account, send e-mails or play games.

The interactive televideo services can be offered with various telephone numbers and coupled with automatic and interactive audio services, services requiring the operator, fax mailing and fax on demand.

Home Banking

Edistar is Italy's leader in the management of Home Banking services.

Thanks to interactive teletext technology it is possible to check your bank account from the comfort of your home through your television set. A telephone call gives access to your personal pages.

The automatic 24-hour service allows the banks' customers to consult their accounts in real time: check transactions, and make investment decisions.

TV banking can help relieve the bank's call center of the burden of all those telephone enquiries.

TV banking is ideal also for insurance groups that wish to use interactive teletext to manage the information concerning policy yields and all the operations connected with insurance contracts.

TV Banking is secure.

All the information that is visualised on Televideo is totally anonymous,
thus guaranteeing customer security. In no way is it possible to trace the identity of customers from the data which has been transmitted.  For security reasons users are asked to enter a secret code before connecting to the service.  If required, users can opt for the “stealth" mode when viewing their personal pages, which basically prevents other television viewers from accidentally or voluntarily viewing them.

Teletext is available on various numbers.
